NOMAD | humanitariaN Operations Mobile Acquisition of Data
As we reported previously in “Mobile Data Collection Activities in Emerging Countries,” Mobile Data Collection is being used by Government, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s), International Organizations (IO’s) and Private organizations to monitor, analyze, and report pertinent findings in relation to important issues regarding the environment, climate change, public health, human rights monitoring, epidemiology, population censuses, opinion polls, economic studies and many more.
In this post, we would like to draw attention to one project that aims to help charities and humanitarian aid organizations connect with mobile data collection solution providers. The NOMAD project is a ground breaking project that links humanitarian aid organizations with the latest information management tools to more easily collect, analyze and manage data.
Using a free Online Selection Assistant, charities and aid agencies that help out people affected by conflict, hunger and natural disasters can search for and compare more than 25 different mobile data collection solutions. COMMANDmobile was recently featured on NOMAD as a state of the art of mobile data collection software solution with numerous applications, including surveys, inspections, geo-coding of pictures/data, mobile reporting, and more.
Data collection software and mobile computing are changing the way that organizations are working in some of the most remote places on Earth. Subscribe to NOMAD to get further support and updates on mobile data collection technology.
On Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 to Friday, May 17, 2013, NOMAD will be providing a workshop at the French Space Agency (CNES) headquarter in Paris, France to share more about latest developments of mobile data collection. COMMANDmobile regrets that it won’t be able to attend the workshop, but we are exciting about the advances in mobile data collection technologies and are pleased to be featured in the NOMAD Online Selection Assistant.
